Fishermen, Danang, Vietnam

Day 21

An early start down at the beach, to see the fishermen using their coracle boats. We also visited the cathedral.

One and a half hour flight to Dalat. First time I have been in a plane with propellers. On landing, we all walked across the tarmac to the terminal. Only one belt for luggage.

A 23K drive to Dalat city, built as a hill station by the French. Much cooler up here, a welcome change. Good roads, some quality accommodation around. Found the hotel, a set of bungalows on a hillside. Nowhere open for lunch, all eating places seem to close in the afternoons.

We visited the Flower Garden, and Lake area. We also found the old train station, built in 1932, a copy of the station at Deauville, Art Deco style. Then did find a good place for dinner. All cooked to order, delicious flavours, a friendly, helpful family.

A visit to the Night Market. Organised chaos, so very busy. The place was heaving, and still open to traffic. A large variety of fruit and veg here. Huge avocados.
