Another Disaster......

it's hard not to be a bit....actually A LOT.....disappointed when i opened the kiln this morning.....i felt like i'd pulled back quit a bit with the glaze applications on these pieces...but not enough it would seem! sigh......onwards is the only way to go!!! so now i will spend some more time looking at why the glazes ran where they did....what combo is not working in terms of control.....maybe i need to do more simple explorations! i sort of know that is the direction i NEED to go, but oh it's just so much more exciting to visualise a whole piece! somewhere in between there lies the balance!

However, it looks like most of the mugs are a success...so that is a sigh of relief!

Raining and misty here today....but i have the day off and i'm listening (and watching to a small degree) one of my favs.....Peter Gabriel ......and doing some painting with the new soft pastels. boy has it taken me a while to loosen up and use the damn things!!! why do i let them feel so precious....yeah they were a bit more expensive, but hey, not that much money really! anyway, i seem to have finally let loose and i'm having a grand time!
