Radio presenter Manjulika

On this day when the high salaries of top BBC presenters have been exposed, it is worth reflecting on the fact that many local broadcasters in FM radio stations are volunteers performing a community service and giving their time freely to good causes. 
This is the case for my neighbour Manjulika who travels across Glasgow to present her two shows  weekly on AwazFM - that's as well as her other work with ethnic minorities in Glasgow and Scotland - and her Yoga teaching. This is the shape of modern retirement for many get-up-and-go seniors with a strong social conscience.
