Lime-speck pug

I really like the little moths in the pug family, but by and large they are all very similar, and identification is a total nightmare!
Luckily this little moth, the Lime-speck pug  Eupithecia centaureata, is really distinctive and easy to identify. it is fairly common throughout the UK, occupying a wide range of habitats. It is thought it's coloration resembles a bird dropping, so as to offer protection from predation.
