Day 137: Magpie Malocchio

More mischievous or malevolent a glint in its eye in large.

Long time, no c-orvids.
I put the long lens on and went for 15 minutes of birding action...
I liked this moulting magpie: it was reluctant and struggling to fly (young?), although it did make a speedy escape flight when pushed. It was a cross thing, and I was particularly impressed by a manoeuvre in which it flapped up to the crest of the roof, settled momentarily, then thought better of it and took flight properly.

I also took some pictures of a handsome jackdaw (in flight, next to a road, and against a wall).

My other corvid captures are on Flickr here (or right from here).
