Mother and Child

This carving is a recent addition to the dock beside the Harbour Authority in Ganges.  Information about the carving on a plaque reads:
"This Western Red Cedar, driftwood carving is presented through the kindness and generosity of HASSI, the Harbour Authority of Salt Spring Island, the Estate of the Artist and Willard Davies' many friends and collaborators here on Salt Spring Island.  
                                               IN MEMORIUM
                                             WILLARD DAVIES
                              JULY 13, 1945 - AUGUST 30, 2016"

Willard Davies died tragically in a car accident.  
I've included an extra of as much of the carving as I could fit in the frame.  I think it's beautiful.
