An ordinary life....

Field of Gold...

Backblip

Lazy morning then oldest blip pal Sleepyhead (oldest not in age, oldest as in longest :-) arrived just before 1pm and the three of us (him, D and I) headed off to Broadslap for lunch.

It was the first time Peter had been there and he was impressed by the strawberry tarts.   Like me, he thinks any strawberry tart worth its salt must have a crisp pastry base, fresh cream filling supporting large juicy strawberries with a generous coating of strawberry sauce.  We were not disappointed.

The weather was rubbish so knowing we wouldn't get the chance to get out and about with cameras,  David drove home the scenic route and we got ourselves settled in the garden room with The Open on the telly (that was more D & P's choice than mine :-)  Watched that in between chatting.  We're good at that!

As a belated birthday treat, I told Peter I would make him his death row dinner, so we started with melon & parma ham followed by steaks in peppercorn sauce, homemade chips & veg and ended with Bakewell tart.  All rather yummy if I do say so myself.

Back to the garden room and more chatting till the wee small hours (we  even out-talked David who fell asleep on the sofa. Thankfully he didn't disgrace himself by snoring) till the yawning took over and we all agreed it was time to call it a night.
