Goodbye to Bath

My worries, ever present, about missing train connections proved needless today as we managed the tight change at Bristol despite having to use lifts ( because of His Lordship having brought a very large case, whose handle broke at the crucial point).

I can't say that cattle class on a cross country train from Penzance to Glasgow Central via Edinburgh is anything other than a penance to be endured: limited luggage storage anywhere near our seat, the convenient nearest toilet broken and the adjoining window obscured by a wall panel, made the 7 hour journey seem much longer.
However on the plus side, we needed no input and could sit like a pair of zombies for the whole journey and contemplate life.

We are back to an Edinburgh of sunshine and hordes of tourists. Time now to pick up the threads of ordinary life again after an action packed week in Yorkshire and Wiltshire.
