An improving kind of day

Still wild and wet this morning as we went out at about 10 to head to the harbour. It felt like I needed a woolly hat and gloves and we are virtually at the end of July. We clearly had the same idea as everyone else to delay our boat trip out to the Farnes until Tuesday as we were towards the end of a  long list of folk booking on for tomorrow. Hopefully the forecast will prove to be correct.

We broke out this afternoon and went down to Alnwick to go to Barter Books. A bit disappointing as everything felt well and truly picked through for any hidden gems. Bailey enjoyed his trip though not least because he was allowed into the shop, as were lots of other dogs and he got quite a lot of attention.

Back to the coast and to sunshine and blue sky so we headed around the coastal path at what was clearly high tide or very close to it. Kittiwakes on a cliff edge and scenic views from the golf course were duly appreciated. And the same in the other direction after tea.
