MonoMonday Challenge - 183 Light

This is unfortunately a back blip...

The amazing tour around Islay continues.  Monday we went back to Bruichladdich for the official tour.  It is the second time for us, but always great to pick up something new each time.  We then rushed over to Caol Ila for another their distillery tour.  The risk is that it gets boring doing so many tours.  The process is quite the same for each distillery.  Though each one has it's own secrets and set points and quality of barley and shape/size of the mash bins, number of fills, stills and so on.  The last time I came through Caol Ila was going through a major renovation.  So this was my first distillery tour. Everything is automated now with very little manual intervention - except for the still master is still the still master, rightly so.  Lunch in Port Askaig to gander over at Jura and think about future adventures to be had.  Over to the South East coast for a drive up to Claggain Bay where the road is shut at a farm. Amazing to look at a peated stream flow out into the sea and how the dark brown water mixes into the crystal clear blue Atlantic.  A rush back down to catch the ferry back to the main land and another long drive to go down the south western Scottish coast into the dwindling light to other adventures beyond.

Thanks to 60plus for hosting the MonoMonday challenge this month.
