Ful

Poni was on hand to welcome me back to Juba with a smile, some boisterous conversation and some posing in the compound next to this bush.

For arrival lunch she prepared me ful, a typically Arab dish of fava beans, onion and boiled egg. Nipping home to breastfeed her daughter Kate she had a heavy lunch of beans, cassava and sweet potato and came back complaining of feeling full to bursting.

Good to be back in Juba. It's a relatively cool time of year and passing through the airport building tent was smooth. Fuel shortages, which were inevitable, have hit the country and the economic crisis is worse than ever. But Poni and Sebit find the time to laugh about the trials and tribulations of life. If they didn't do that they'd cry.
