But, then again . . . . .

Jnr's Birthday Cards.

Jnr is in foreign parts just now, and has most of my camera kit with him. The particular part is Tanzania, and it’s his birthday in two days’ time; so, before I go away for the week-end, I’m emailing him a picture of his two birthday cards.

The one on the left with the ten pound note is from a courtesy aunt, though he’s never called her “Aunt,” it’s not the done thing these days even though she has sent him a ten pound note for every birthday and Christmas since he was born. That totals seven hundred pounds and she’s never even seen him. The one on the right is from a real aunt who has met him but maintains a policy of not sending presents to nieces and nephews, once they reach their sixteenth birthday, in a laudable attempt to conserve her pension; unfortunately, her relatives seem to run the policy of trying to fill every square inch of the earth’s surface with the patter of their progenies’ feet.
