Manchester Victoria

Today went like clockwork compared to yesterday. An uneventful trip across the Pennines between Rochdale and Wetherby and a good meeting in between.

Arrived back in Rochdale with a few minutes to spare to catch the train back to Victoria. I then had a couple of hours to roam the streets of Manchester prior to the 7.15pm train back to the smoke. It was a very pleasant evening and I managed to clock up 5 miles around the city from Victoria through to Oxford Street and Oxford Road where I sought out the building where Chris studied for his doctorate. From there back to Piccadilly via the canal basin which is always a peaceful place to be.

Manchester Victoria station is a complete contrast of new and old. The blip is of what I assume is part of the original station as is the booking hall and map in extras. Also included in extras is the modern aspect of Victoria and a shot of the Piccadilly Canal Basin with its old advertising hoarding.

An uneventful and wine fuelled journey back to London, arriving on time which enabled me to catch an earlier train back to Kent getting in at 10.55pm rather than 11.30pm. A good day all around.
