Not a Dabchick

I went back to Kinghorn Loch again today (that's 3 out of the last 4 days) to concentrate once more on the little grebes / dabchicks but still got nothing better, just more of the same. I really love those little grebes - like small balls of fluff with tiny wings that look inadequate for flight.

Yesterday and today there were also great-crested grebes with a chick but these were even further out so no blip of them either.

The bird that I got closest to was a moorhen so that will have to suffice for today. Here it is attempting to remain unnoticed behind a screen of horsetails.
