Machen

I headed to Cardiff to do a few things, including picking up a couple of tickets for the Cardiff City v Portsmouth match next month; I intended doing an aerial photo but everytime the rain started again and this has been the way all day. I cannot remember when we last had a nice summer in the UK!

The main blipfoto is of Machen Quarry and the extra is a view from the Quarry of the whole of Machen village. The Quarry is past its heyday - it's a few years since the regular 1pm siren and blast. It's just used for aggregate now. The view shows the cutting of the limestone rock face.
