The Sence of Beauty

Fountain-pen painting by Axel Neumann

What a wonderful and unique experience we had today.
M. is working at a theater project in Worms. So he visited an exhibition called "The Sence of Beauty" by Axel Neumann.
When he came home for some days, he narrated enthusiastically about it. He had talked to Axel Neumann for hours and Axel and his wife Patricia were curious about T. and wanted to meet her. And M. told them about his crazy blipping mother and they wanted me to make some pictures of their exhibition. Now the excitement was on my side :-)
After a short guided tour (cathedral, M.'s workplace and an ice cream parlour) we met the artists. What a pleasure that was!
They were absolutely lovely with T. . She knows Axel Neumann from acting in one of her favorite films: 7 Dwarves playing the Rumpelstiltskin
And the exhibition was stunning. His art is unique.
25 years ago he was closed up for 3 weeks in silence and darkness. (This methode was also used in the antiquity to enlarge the spirit - something he didn't know, until a scientist told him a year ago)
In this time thousands of pictures appeared in his head and now he is painting them.
He developed an own method to paint with acryl in a fountain -pen. Every single line is about 1-2mm long. He makes 250 000 lines for a smal painting and millions for a bigger one.
And the result is WOW!
It was a real challenge to try to photogragh the exhibition.
I hope they like my tries. Two of them you can see in the extras :-)
