Companies should be actively recruiting more Livvoes, not losing their only one. An unfailingly genial presence and the easiest-to-talk-to over-desk neighbour of various team-layout-arrangements over the past seven years had his last day in the office today. Hopefully he'll find somewhere else fairly soonish and will be allowed to re-adopt his fake middle initial in order to maintain a unique name on the messaging system of wherever he ends up. The two others who have already left and the two others who are in similar boat (albeit one which is being delayed from launching for a few months) were also about in the pub in the afternoon, one of whom received what was clearly a far better leaving gift than any of the others in the form of a remote control helicopter/camcorder, which I'd always thought would be a fantastic thing to create using a normal remote control helicopter with a camcorder lashed to the underside, but which I'd imagined would always remain out of my financial reach until I was far too old to be able to get away with it.
