Corn Poppy

I love these corn poppies with the paper thin petals. They look their best when growing among other wild flowers like cornflowers and daisies. For me, the poppies with tinges of white make a much better photograph than the solid red flowers.

A bit of work in the back garden this afternoon .... loppers and secateurs at the ready. Fortunately the shrub being pruned is round the side of my shed and the cuttings can just be left on the ground and they make a fairly effective weed deterrent.
