Without boiling water

This is one of Master Funakoshi's twenty guiding precepts of karate-do - the Niju Kun.

Karate wa yu no gotoshi taezu netsu o ataezareba moto no mizu ni kaeru

In English: karate is like boiling water; without heat it returns to its tepid state.

While I have been applying heat, I'm not sure it's been quite enough. I videoed my training yesterday, and was a bit less than pleased with some aspects. Today I sharpened them up, and feel substantially less tepid. ;)
