Gently down the stream

Brimstone

We've had some gorgeous weather today, so of course I couldn't resist going butterfly hunting again and came across this brimstone perched at just the right angle for the sun to show up the texture on its wings.  The blip was taken quite high up on chalk downland.  The flower is a scabious, of which there are many right now, and if I'm interpreting my new field guide correctly the butterfly is a female.

Apart from that a pretty peaceful day.  Nice!

Thank you all for the lovely comments, stars and hearts, which have now put little Jax on page one of the pops.  Enjoy your evening  xx
