Kendal Calling

Saturday at Kendal calling.

We didn't sleep to great last night we had noisy neighbours! Talking until 5am, well, shouiting from tent to tent! Never mind, we must embrace the festival atmosphere and this is part of it. I was a little shocked that part of the conversation was about what one was going to do to his girlfriend and I found out when i woke up his girlfriend was with him in the tent during the conversation. Maybe I'm old. Anyway, coffee on and we're ready to face the day.

First thing to tackle each morning is the loo! Another experience which makes Benidorm next year a more attractive option. There is a choice of loo! The sawdust loo or the superloo. Neither a pleasant experience but needs must and we must embrace this experience! The sawdust loo, we preferred, apparently its better for the environment, not for mine at that time. So, you take ur sawdust in a cup, do your business and cover it with ur cup of sawdust! Far cleaner and nicer than a superloo on Friday but by sunday not the best!

Loo experience over, coffee, at which point we decided we were going out to the arena for the day today. We were not walking back in this mud twice like yesterday. So, we had a little snooze then it was gin o'clock. Now during this gin hour or two, something attached itself to my arm! It was black, hard, small and stuck to my skin! I thought it was a tick! I'm sure it was a tick so with baby wipe in hand I suffocated it, twisted it and pulled the horrible little thing out. I had a tiny pin prick whole which my sympathetic friend said she couldn't see but i could!

We had a visit from the teenagers who joined us for a tipple and a gossip then we got ready to face the trudge in the mud. It really is not funny now! Did I mention Benidorm next year. We called at st johns ambulance just to check my bite and i've been told to look for any changes cos its head might still be there! How nice i didn't think it was tho. (No ticks in Benidorm!)

Again we made it to the arena without mishap, a few little drinks and a walk round. We saw Brian Wilson from the beach boys on his coach. He didn't look to happy but we believe he has dementia so will excuse him.

We wanted to see the beach boys so made our way to the main stage. We were at the front. Never been at the front before. We met some nice people, older generation and young, a nice mix. Brian wilson needed to be helped on the stage, he looked like Peter Kay from Phoenix Nights and sat at the keyboard at the front of the stage. We were disappointed at his singing until a young man of about 18/19 told us that we should embrace the fact he his here, his music is good even if others are carrying him and his music will live on. I thought what a wonderful attitude for a young lad and he put us in our place!

We saw some sights whilst waiting at the front. One young lady, (well lady?) Needed the loo so squated and done! He boyfriend then relieved himself in a glass and that went on the floor too, how nice, and people throw themselves down in the mud and roll each other around in it. I'm so pleased we had a 'no wellies in the tent policy'!

With the Beach boys finished, we had a stroll in the woods, we hugged some balls! No idea what that was about but again we embraced the experience (a lot of embracing today, but we must embrace!).

We listened to a comedien who was a bit close to the bone but I thought he was quite funny.

Then we set off in the mud again to our tent and to bed. Yes, another good day at Kendal Calling.
