Day 11

Day 11. Moffat to Balloch. 83 miles. A long showery day but mostly flat so not as tired tonight.

Up early for breakfast and managed a quick walk in the street to have a look at the hotel in dry day light. We were both pleased to see such a beautiful war memorial. The by news at breakfast reminded us that it was the anniversary of the battle of Passcgendaale.

From Moffat we climbed over some beautiful high moors along the same old main road as yesterday but it was a little further from the motorway today so much more pleasant. Also the scenery was fsntastic. We then descended down through some busy little towns towards Glasgow. Stopping at a play park to eat our sandwiches. We eventually joining the Clyde cycle path. This is a beautiful route through the busy city. We cycled along this traffic free route all the way through Glasgow, Clydebank and Dumbarton then on to Balloch. A lovely route. We did make a detour into Glasgow as Mr PB lost his cycling glasses. We found a great bike shop and a cycling cafe. No purchases made just cake and tea. On to the Highlands tomorrow.
