Day 12

Day 12. Balloch to Glencoe. 68 miles of heavy rain showers, and a little sunshine, well I did see a shadow twice! A beautiful, if very damp ride today. 20 miles up the side of Loch Lomond on a cycle track then climbing up into the Highlands on the A82. A busy road and not pleasant when the HGVs pass and spray you with water. However we only had a few thoughtless drivers coming too close, the straight sections were the worse, as drivers thought they could see the road ahead and speed past. Lunch at the Green Welly services at Tyndrum where we queue half an hour to be served, but at least we were drying off and had a chat with fellow folk in the queue. This uwas followed by long climbs and descents through gorgeous scenery, showers passing through, some very heavy. We stopped in lay-bys to take photos and allow our hands, well mine to denumb. We got a mountaineer to take this one of us.

Stopped for an early meal so we wouldn't have to go out in the rain later then on to the Glencoe YHA. Luckily they have a great drying room. The shorter distance was welcome for our legs.
