Nottingham

Catching up with a backblip now we are back from our travels.

Spent the day in Nottingham, wandering around the city centre, visiting the city centre summer beach and sitting in deckchairs while we ate ice creams (!) and playing a bit of underground crazy golf. Probably should have visited the real caves instead, but we can save that for our next visit to the city. And in the evening we went to the first of our Indigo Girls concerts, at the Albert Hall. We had reasonably good seats, not too far from the stage. And the concert was excellent with plenty of familiar songs. The support - Lucy Wainwright Roche - was very good too, with some gentle audience interaction in her set and then joining Amy and Emily for a number of songs, adding a third voice to the harmonies. The extra shows Amy telling the story of her daughter's reaction to being told she, Amy, was going away on tour. It was just starting to rain as we left the venue so caught a taxi back to the hotel to avoid the torrential downpour.
