Filling in the holes.

For many months now, a lot of our local roads have existed with too many potholes. Today, a large section of a key route was closed so that it could be resurfaced.  Workmen descended en-masse with many machines and lorries. We had a look after lunch and by that time much of the road had the top layer stripped off, this was done with a large contraption which seemed to grind the surface and then send it up a conveyor belt into a waiting lorry. Later, I walked past and the whole section was almost complete, even down to new lines painted - a good job!
