Border

I didn't sleep too well in the hotel, to be honest. A bit airless, and a rather uncomfortable bed. Anyway, this was compensated by an excellent breakfast and also an illuminating discussion over breakfast with Mr A about some ideas for our kitchen renovation. It was also a bit annoying that it was raining hard, and so we had to give up our idea for an improving walk.

After staring hard at a map for a while (hard not to, as it was pasted on the wall next to our breakfast table), we came up with the idea of searching out Lochore, which is just south of Kinross. As one road was closed, this proved a little more difficult than we expected, but we eventually found the village we were looking for and headed off down a side road that we thought headed to the wee loch. We parked up and headed down a muddy path, thinking that we would walk down to the loch edge in drizzle, catch a photo and head straight back to the car. We were very pleased and surprised that we hit the loch at exactly the same time as a patch of sunshine, so we enjoyed brilliant sparkly views, which lasted for about the duration of the short walk we took along the lochside and back again. Back in the car, the rain returned and has done, periodically and torrentially, throughout the afternoon and evening.

We plan to go back to Lochore, though. It has an interesting industrial heritage and it's a pretty wee loch which one can walk around quite easily.
