Sgwarnog: In the Field

The sun returned today, and the bees and other insects were busy. We had a couple of fleeting butterfly visits in the garden, a Peacock and a Speckled Wood.

The experts over on iSpot have kindly confirmed my tentative identification of this Drone-fly (Eristalis tenax.) There were a number of them sunning and preening themselves on leaves in the front garden. They were still enough to get a half-decent hand held close-up.

The launch of the Baildon Farmer's market seemed to be a success this morning. I know we're about ten years behind, but the time seems to be right to sustain this now. I stocked up on Pudsey Pickles, and oddly shaped muddy carrots.
