Garden

Quick trip to Westfield this morning then off down to Twickenham to my godson (and family)’s allotment to help them out with a bit of tidying and planting.  That’s obviously just an excuse for a catch-up, so it was mostly about lunch in the pub.  (Notable for serving CarbBoy his first ever chicken burger – which he loved.  Another step forward into ‘normal’ food…)

The allotment is in a stately home gardens, and during the very pleasant wander to and from the pub, we passed this fountain/pond feature.  Not sure what all these women are doing.  (And I really must remember not to try and zoom on the iPhone...)

After a bit of sandpit action (good to see that my kids are not yet too old for that!) back to the garden for some weeding, rasp-chopping and seed sowing (godson mainly focused on the carrot-picking part of the day and digging bigger holes than would be considered necessary for rocket seeds – but it broke the soil up nicely!)

Ali kindly dropped us home, then it was time for a quick tidy ready for our most local pals coming over for dinner.  Lazily, I had suggested takeaway – which was delicious and gave me a chance to eat coconut curry which I never have otherwise.
