Life through the lens...

Butterfly bush for Flower Friday.

At last we have finally got some butterflies on the butterfly bush.
Buddleia " Santana". Golden splashed leaves, claret red flowers, and compact low growing,  4 - 5 ft.
Ours has already reached the top of the fence, and I had to take this shot one handed with my arm out stretched, as our bush is already 6 - 7 ft high.  I did cut it down to a couple of feet last year as well.
The flowers are a lovely deep colour, but I wouldn't call them " claret".
Anyhow it is nice to see some butterflies at last. Even if these two red admirals look a bit tatty.

We have had sunshine all day, and although warm there is a wind blowing.
Hope the weather is fine for the weekend, and you all have a good one.
