Hot, Hot, Hot

Back blipping ..... I got a bit behind ... :)
This is for Sunday!

We had planned the big flea market round ending at the Mauerpark to chill and enjoy.
It was going to be seriously hot with a high of over 30 degrees.

We started just before 12 am with our local market. We then realised that the U-Bahn traffic was slightly disrupted and that they operated with bus substitution into Friedrichshain where we wanted to go next. I checked Drive-now availability and we found a Mini Convertible just up the road. NICE!
We had a lovely drive to Boxhagener Platz where we strolled over the next flea market. It was really hot and we preferred to walk at a very slow pace.
Once we had done the round we took the S-Bahn on to Arconaplatz which is close to the Mauerpark and actually one of the nicest flea markets in Berlin. I found a few WMF pieces for my collection that were a bit of a bargain but we did not find the butter tray we were actually after.
From Arconaplatz we walked to the Mauerpark. It was so hot that I actually did not feel like any more flea market browsing at all.
We went first to the bar for a drink in the shadow then only did a small round across the market stalls and did not find anything. Mainly probably because of the heat. It was just too hot and any movement felt too much.
Next stop was the actual park and we went to the legendary Sunday Bearpit Karaoke to see what was happening there. Just when we arrived a Chilean guy went on stage and seriously rocked the whole pit with his interpretation of "Killing in the name of ...".

We listened to a few more but they were not great. We looked at the bands playing in the park and found the Australian Band we listened to on Friday setting up. We sat in the sun and listened to a few pieces before we slowly made our way home, via Bämeräng of course.
The 2 girls (actually mother and daughter) running it are so lovely. They welcomed us like old friends and brought our usual coffees without asking. We had a chat and realised that we just missed their first birthday party .... shame!
After the usual coffee I thought we should celebrate the day with my favourite cocktail, an espresso martini! It came in disguise (see extra) and tasted wonderful. We resisted the urge to have a second one as we knew it would be rather a bad idea in that heat!
We made our way home only after 9 pm.
The cold shower I took felt life saving after all that heat.
