Flea Markets, Coffee and a long night

We were not very early this morning despite the lazy night before.
Still catching up with sleep and exhaustion from the weeks before.
We had breakfast and when we were about to leave the doorbell rang.
There was a girl (ok my age :) ) in front of the door, quite shy, saying that she lived in the flat in the early 1990-ies and asked if she could have a look how it is now.
Of course we let her in and she was lovely. Told us she had no heating, just a coal oven, no bathroom, the toilet was in our storage cupboard and you could not close the door when sitting on it :).
Her name is Anja and she lives now in Prenzlauer Berg with her family. Unfortunately she had no time for a quick coffee as her family was waiting outside. We exchanged email addresses and will surely be in touch one day. She also wanted to send us pictures from the flat when she was in.
It was a lovely encounter and I understand so well her urge to see what happened to the flat, which was her first place as a student and which she apparently loved a lot.
After this we finally made our way out.
Who follows me knows how much we like flea markets and on a Sunday there are plenty in Berlin!
We started with the local at Marheinecke Platz then took the U-Bahn to Boxhagener Platz before we ended at the Mauerpark.
Wow, although it was not too warm, Mauerpark was heaving with people! After browsing the stalls we walked to a Café we have been a few times before, close to the U-Bahn.
It is a Rock-Themed vegan Café with a relaxed atmosphere and good coffee and cakes. Have not tried the cocktails yet ....
It seems to have changed name though. I need to look through last years' photos to check. Today it is called Bamerang :) or Bämeräng in German.
We made our way home, had a nap and food and went out in the Kiez again, met some interesting people and were back home in the early hours.
A good day again!

I am Blipping Bämeräng!
