After 3 days of inactivity I decided that we needed a good walk even though the weather forecast was for showers.

I made cheese and chutney sandwiches and we packed them along with flapjack, brownie, drink and waterproofs.

By 10 o'clock we were parked in Whinlatter Forest and had a pleasant walk up towards Lord's Seat. Approaching the top we could see the weather deteriorating from the west and it was just minutes before the rain hit.

The main photo was taken from the summit looking east towards Barf and Skiddaw. Only a minute later the first extra shows the lack of visibility to the SW.

On the way down we were passed by a group on a Segway trip (second extra). Seems an easier way to get uphill than walking or cycling.
