Carrot Surprise!

Seeing is believing, but eating is the crunch. Somehow our carrots decided that they were going to grow, but much later than the plan. Small but crunchy and grown without fertiliser, they are everything one would expect of fresh carrots but profitable they are not. Maybe a little more sun and rain and who knows, maybe they will grow a bit more?

Why are carrots orange? Apparently they used to be white or yellow, that is until the Dutch did some selective breeding and made them the Dutch national orange that we know.

Otherwise a cold and drizzly day. I have lit the stove, not just for hot water and D. has just commented that the house is lovely and warm.

Lunchtime.
