Snow Down Under

BULB TIME:

I am very fond of bulbs, especially the Fritillaria family & dwarf narcissi. For several years I have been trying to build up collections of the different species. This Raddeana is the first to flower with me & is always in flower by the middle of August. It must be related to F. Imperialis, but thank goodness it's not as smelly as it is. If you dig anywhere near that bulb, it smells putrid ! We had a brief shower overnight, just 2mm by my gauge, so today, poor Raddeana looks like Spotty Dick.
