Adult Education

Miriam our head of Preschooling writes:

Hello Boss
We have been asked for a workshop in Jombo area, they have 5 preschools which are in operation, but they never had any training.... but the caregivers have the heart to teach the children. They were asking if we can help them with workshop.
So in my reply I told them about forestry, and the Chief was happy to hear and  he said that their area has not much trees because of tobacco, so they welcome the idea.
So I want to hear from you if it can be possible then I can arrange this with Prominence and Lusungu, of our forestry department, so that we can go together.

A REPORT ON ADULT EDUCATION IN MICA
The government of Malawi introduced adult education in some years back, but up to now there is no place from Government where these adult learners can be learning.
 Wells for Zoë has assisted the class of 19 adult learners with a place in Mchengautua Mzuzu, who stated English curriculum in 2013. This was Level1 with 2 books 1 and 2. These learners worked very hard because their aim was to know how to read and speak and write English so that they could be able to communicate and also using phones and many more. Some were finding difficulties even in their business.
From 2013 these women were coming to school and now many of them are really doing very well. So on 21st July 2017 the Government prepared Exams for these learners. Mrs Kayange is the woman who works under Community Development who came to invigilate these learners. They wrote 3 papers, paper 1 was reading and comprehension, paper 2 was mathematics in sentences and paper 3 was writing and dictation. The learners were very happy that they have written Exams.
Many classes of these adult learners have not managed to sit for these Exams because of lack of support mainly in terms of place and materials. These learners are very thankful to Wells for Zoë for the support and all the volunteers who have been coming to Malawi and some managed to teach them something.They are now waiting for their Certificate from the Government.

REPORT ON ADULT EDUCATION LESSONS IN MICA WITH Jacquie

   We are having 2 day classes a week with the group of adult education in Mica with Jacquie to keep going with the class and she is teaching them English speaking and writing which they have liked it very well. We also do art with them like painting and drawing pictures they are happy with this. As they have written their Exams they don’t want to be staying at home without doing any classes because they feel that they still need help in English.
The chief of Mchengautua visited the place and was very interested with this class and said he will inform some who don’t know about this and are willing to learn, because English now is needed for every one... mainly women those who didn’t go to school because of different reasons, some could be the problem with school fees and others is that schools were very far in those years back.... So it’s a good idea to have adult education in Mica because many people are helped there.
