The 'fun' begins

I arrived at Glasgow Airport to meet the twenty-four ladies and gents from the Pennsylvania area of the USA - seven gents and seventeen ladies this time. Some were from a little further afield, but all were members of the Hardy Plant Society, Mid-Atlantic Group. Didn't realise that there was any land in the Mid-Atlantic, but what do I know!

Unlike the previous five tours for this group, this one had a 'cultural' element attached to the garden side. We began with a visit to the 'House for an Art Lover' in Bellahouston Park, where we had an unexpected tour from a young, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic fella, which went down a treat. After lunch in the house we went on to Sanquhar,  down in the Borders, where we explored Charles Jencks' amazing landscape, the Crawick Multiverse. Here are Josh and Frannie, walking up the avenue.

Our hotel for the next three nights is on the old Crichton campus just outside Dumfries, an old lunatic asylum.

This is a back-Blip.
