Topsy-turvy

Conventions, like clichés, have a way of surviving their own usefulness.

I finish my slides, give my talk, and relax. No meetings, no calls, no workshops. Great conversations and some good sessions, too.

Conference party is a short bus journey away, in a complex of 3 restaurants. Outside it's humid, inside its loud. There's food and drink and lots of people to talk to.

Then some of us went to Howl At The Moon (via Frogs). I should go home instead, but instead I drink more G&Ts and try to talk over the blaring karaoke music. When my voice fails I grab a burger at Denny's and take an Uber back to the hotel.
