FIRST MATCH OF THE SEASON

Headed for St James Park this afternoon - kick off 1.30pm. Took a few shots inside and outside of the ground to make a collage.   In one shot you can see " The Beat Boxing Spiderman " who is a familiar sight on the streets of Newcastle. He was making music outside the ground and was  joined by a few children who enjoyed dancing around.

So Newcastle lost.  The match started off Ok but then in the second half Newcastle let a couple of goals go in and had a player sent off.  After that there really was no hope.  Never mind - its early days.

The weather was sunny and HOT.  Yes it was actually HOT.  Amazing after the washout that was yesterday.  The East Stand where I sit is a real sun trap.  Should really have taken my sunglasses and sun cream  but they are not something we usually need in the North East of England.

Did a bit of shopping after the match and got home around 5.45pm.  Had salmon and salad for my tea and then this evening I have been enjoying more athletics on TV.
