Floating Cities

This afternoon we caught the bus into Vancouver and walked around the roof of Canada Place, pausing after some consideration on the exact spot above Andy's desk on the floor below! There were three huge cruise ships in dock, massive floating cities stopping over in Vancouver on their way up to Alaska. With the sea planes buzzing over head and cruise ships preparing to leave port we felt a little hard done by not travelling anywhere. We walked past Coal Harbour and around the sea wall to Stanley Park, where we were just in time to watch one of the cruise ship pass underneath the Lions Gate bridge.

A little bit over tired and a little bit over hungry, we've not motivated ourselves to go food shopping this week so yet another reason to test out a local eatery presented itself! We had our tea at the Slocan, a pub very close to where we live, a massive bonus is that they have HP sauce on the tables! Our evening got even better when we arrived home to discover that our landlord had bought us a brand new mattress for our previously saggy and very uncomfortable bed, this has made me very happy indeed!

Follow that with Philippe Gilbert winning the world road race championship and you've got yourself a pretty good day!
