Day 6 - moths and waffles

The last day of riding. The week has gone so quickly and we've all made lots of new friends. It's been lovely to see the littlies getting on with the teens and the teens spending their days not continually plugged into their phones. The morning riding was enlivened by the discovery of this large moth on the verge when we stopped to allow the stragglers at the back to catch up. The moth didn't seem particularly excited to receive so much attention but it gave me an opportunity while we waited to give the peloton a quick entomological briefing and discourage the smaller boys with more destructive instincts. I don't know much but many of those assembled seemed to know absolutely nothing about Lepidoptera.

The Eiscafe we stopped at in the morning in a very small one horse town couldn't believe their luck when we all descended on them ordering more apple strudel and waffels than they'd probably sold in the entire week to date. We finished off at the Bergen an der Dumme pool - the teens opted to stay dry and eat Currywurst and fries while the hardier adults (it was a cold, drizzly day again) enjoyed a final invigorating swim.

An evening of packing up and saying our goodbyes before setting an alarm for very early tomorrow.
