Beth Chatto

A trip to visit the Beth Chatto gardens up near Clacton. It's famed for its arid environment planting, due to the low rainfall in that area. I have wanted to go for years. As friend Jan is staying we decided to do the trip. And gosh, was it worth it. What a beautiful spot. Not huge but perfectly formed. See extra for a view of one of the lakes.

With an excellent cafe and (apparently) good shop. I persuaded us to share a cheese scone when we arrived rather than have one each, only having had breakfast a couple of hours earlier. I didn't venture into the latter but was happy to sit on a bench getting a few possible Blips.
