Let's be 'aving you!

This morning I went to Chirk Castle gardens with a friend. We had a walk around and everything was looking beautiful as always. It must take a lot of work to keep the flowers, lawns and bushes looking so good.  It was also great to catch up with each other's news as we walked.

When we'd finished looking around we went to the cafe for a coffee and sat outside to drink it. While we were there this character dressed up in Medieval costume began banging his drum and shouting for people to learn how to march. A flurry of children and their parents joined him in marching up and down and shouting to frighten the enemy. We didn't want our drinks to go cold so we watched the action rather than participating!

I didn't blip the marching volunteers as there were a lot of children and of course I wouldn't put them on line so here's the man himself.

Tonight I'm going to our local cinema for a free showing of a film called Asunder about the home front in WW1 and a Q&A session from the director. It should be interesting.
