Small tortoiseshell

This small tortoiseshell butterfly was on one of the few remaining blooms on our neighbours' white buddleia. I haven't seen many of these butterflies this year, just the odd one now and again. There was a brimstone fluttering around as well,, and it settled in a daphne odora. When I investigated I discovered three of them all resting together on the underside of the leaves. They were too well-concealed to make a photo possible though.
