My gym

The gym and pool are in a converted chapel that was part of Bexley Mental Hospital which was opened in 1898 as the 7th London County Asylum. Known as the Heath Asylum, it was built by G.T.Hine who specialised in asylum architecture. The chapel was designed to seat 850 people and was commissioned soon after the hospital opened.

During the 1990s the entire west side of the hospital was demolished, and in 2001 it was finally closed. The grounds now contain a very large, high end, housing development .

There are a few of the original buildings still standing which are now pivate dwellings, and my sports gym, which is a lovely building with , I believe, it's original windows.
