On the Waterfront

Caught this unusual view on the waterfront of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club’s Committee launch, The Hound framed against the background of the cruise liner Ventura.
The Hound was being lowered into the water from a boat hoist at Marchwood Yacht Club.
The Hound was ashore for annual maintenance and antifouling with the Club’s friends at Marchwood.
The Southampton Club tells me it is extremely grateful to the volunteers who carried out her delivery and return and, of course, the preparation and paintwork — and a great deal of other maintenance and repairs that will keep her in operation. "

 Sailing Secretary Mark Oliver told me: "Thanks also to the volunteers at Marchwood who arranged the lift and re-launch in good time for her to be used for the last round of the RSYC Summer Series on August 17."
