Stonehenge Recreated

I suppose I should not be surprised to find a model of the prehistoric monument Stonehenge on display in the city of Salisbury which is only about eight miles away.
But the one I did find, took me completely by surprise . . . imaginatively made entirely of fudge and on display in a local shop close to the Cathedral.
Thousands of people flock to the English Heritage monument on Salisbury Plain every year, and thousands more to celebrate the Summer Solstice and watch the sun rise over the famous stones.
The fascination of Stonehenge is that it dates back to 3000 BC and is a world heritage monument.
Yet there is nothing historic about this replica of the famous circle of stones on display in the shop window in Salisbury, apart from the association with what it represents.

Roly’s Fudge Pantry, as it is called, part of a chain of 30 shops originating in the West Country, prides itself in producing fresh fudge every day in this shop and others across the country, and invites you in to see the fudge being made.
On this occasion, I didn’t have that pleasure, but full marks for the innovative replica of the county’s most famous heritage monument.
