Hustle and Bustle

Right Royal Blipmeet today as we met up with Nicoiseannie for picnic in the park and a visit to Clarence House - interesting and illuminating in many ways. I was particularly struck by the artworks there.  Of course, we put the world to rights and even managed scones and tea in a very nice little place just off Pall Mall.  We know how to have a good time!  Lovely!

Before we met up, SHH and I managed to do the fastest ever trip from Marylebone to The Queen's Gallery, including elbowing our way through the crowds watching the Changing of the Guard, to get to the Canaletto exhibition in under 20 minutes from train to ticket office.   You can see part of the exhibition in the extras.  It was beautifully displayed and we learnt a lot about how much of a photoshopper Canaletto would have been if he had been a photographer.  I was fascinated by his water...

Then after our Blipmeet and afternoon activities, SHH and I still had a few hours before our train so we went to the National Gallery.  Last week my Croatian beach blip called to mind Seurat's Bathers at Asnieres so we went to search for that.  It was lovely to see if properly and I was amazed at how the light in it changed depending on which angle I looked at it from. It was in the same room as the Van Goghs and, as you can see, all was busy-ness and movement as so many people wanted to see everything in the room - and the whole museum to be fair.  So much to see.

So now I am much later than normal blipping as we arrived back home about 45 minutes ago.  We've had a lovely day in a warm and sunny London with a Blipmeet thrown in!  What more could we ask for?
