Sea Life: Ancient Roman Mosaic

This still life of fish, squid and an eel was made in the first century AD and once formed the central decoration or emblema of a much larger mosaic floor. It's about two square feet and the mosaic pieces are tiny - probably a quarter of a thumbnail each. This was just one exhibit in the fantastically diverse 'Age of Enlightenment' section of the British Museum.
