The disappearing Wall Brown

The Wall Brown exemplifies the collapse of butterfly numbers in Britain. It has decreased by 86% since 1976 and is now seldom seen in much of southern Britain. I'm lucky enough to know of several colonies in Sussex where they can still be found. All the evidence suggests that the Wall Brown is a victim of climate change. The offspring from the butterflies that are on the wing now should spend the winter as caterpillars before emerging next spring. Warmer autumns mean that they emerge as butterflies in September or even October. By the autumn there are no suitable plants for their offspring to eat and so the next generation is lost. Trump presumably wouldn't care even if he knew.
