London calling

Lovely day as a quasi tourist in London. Walked through St James Park and saw countless beautiful geese and ducks, including a solitary grey heron. Watched the guards on their horses at Horse Guards Parade overseen by machine gunned police. And sadly we thought of the terrible tragedy in Barcelona yesterday and our thoughts must be with the victims and their families.

Met with cousin Gloria and husband Jack for a delicious relaxing lunch. And down came the rain.

Visited National Portrait Gallery and was very impressed with the BP young Artists Awards exhibition . Thanks to Edi Steve for recommending this some months ago.

Spent a couple of hours on the South Bank but the temperature had dropped drastically, so al fresco drinking came to a halt earlier than predicted.

A great day out.
